Isaiah has H1N1...poor thing

On Tuesday, Isaiah started to get sick...by Wednesday, he had a fever that was climbing and continued to spike to 104 degrees at 2am Thursday. We luckily had a doctor's appointment already scheduled to check his ears, so we were lucky she was able to see how sick he was. His fever at the doctor's was 103.8 and she said he had all the symptoms of the H1N1 virus. She prescribed Tamiflu, and he was given his first dose last night. His fever has gone down immensely, and he is doing well!

She also has put in a referral to see Dr. Samson, ENT, for him to be fitted with tubes for his ears. We all think this is what has been causing his speech delay, and why when he speaks, he only say's the ending of the word instead of the full word. We hope that this will help!!

I am attaching a few pictures from the beginning of fall and his Halloween costume!....enjoy!!

Maine State Aquarium & Thomas the Train

Yesterday, we took Isaiah to the Maine State Aquarium & to meet Thomas the train!! He had a blast, and even stood still long enough to take an adorable picture with Thomas! There were so many things to see and do...that I was exhausted..but I think that Isaiah could of stayed forever!!
The Aquarium peeked his interest as well! He loved petting the sharks!

Summer 2009

This summer has been very busy for us, and we have not been able to post as many blogs as we like! Isaiah is growing every day, and since he has turned two, his vocabulary has expanded!!!! Every day it's a new word!

So far this summer, we have gone camping in New Hampshire. Which of course, we went to Storyland & Ruggles Mine! This was the cabin that we stayed at while in New Hampshire!

Our Son

Tonight, as I was reading my almost 2 year old his third story before bed, I began to think of how much he has changed since he was born.

For those of you that don't know, Isaiah was born 7 weeks early, weighing in at only 3lbs, 14oz, and 12 1/2 inches long. He was and is my miracle child. He spent a month in the hospital in Portland before we were able to bring him home. I spent almost every waking moment with him, holding his tiny hands through the hole in the incubator, encouraging him to grow. Once he was moved into the Continuing Care section of the hospital, it was a little easier, I was able to hold him more, and love him harder. There were days that I would see parents of preemies like ours, and watch them suffer as their child took their last breath. I am so grateful that we never had to go through that.

The first year of his life was like a whirlwind of emotions. Once we brought him home, it was so different from the hospital. We were his full-time caregivers, not the nurses or the doctors in the hospital. We watched him grow so quickly that first year...trying to capture every moment on camera. He didn't progress as fast as normal babies, but I was told that that was okay, he was doing great. He was a preemie after all, and in his mind, he was right where he needed to be. Safe in our arms. It didn't matter that he wasn't crawling when other children his age were trying to walk, and it didn't matter that he wasn't talking at the same time either. We were and still are so proud of our little man!

I still cannot believe that it's been almost two years since he was born. Time flies when you're raising a little one!

The second year of his life has been a blast! He started walking or should I say running around 13 months, and hasn't stopped. It amazes us and our friends how fearless he is, but he had to be fearless to be born into this world so early. He loves trains, the outdoors, his family and animals. He will play outdoors for hours and cry when it is time to come inside. Our son is becoming his own person, and though I am sad that he isn't a baby anymore, he still loves to cuddle...and I'm going to hold onto that for as long as I can!

Isaiah...Mommy & Daddy had no idea how much love you would bring to our lives, and for that, we are forever grateful! We love you! Forever and always!!

My trip to Florida

My cousin Emily and I outside of the Navy Museum.

I'm running away from Mommy....headed to the water!!
Here I am in Pensacola, Florida with my cousin Trevor. We loved playing cars together!!

On January 3rd, 2009, my mom, my grandmother and my great-grammie started out on our 28 hour road trip to Pensacola, FL!! Needless to say, we did a lot of stopping on our way...our first stop was in Pennsylvania, our second stop was in Georgia. We saw a lot of things on our way...but most of all, I got to watch all the Elmo that I wanted too!!

We made it to my Auntie Lena's house in Pensacola at 11:30pm. I was exhausted and went right to sleep!! I had a great time at my auntie's house!! We got to play outside in the warm weather everyday, and I loved it!! The beach was fun too!! I got to chase seagulls, play in the sand, and even go in the water!!

We had to come back home, so we left Florida on January 14th, and got home on January 17th. It was so cold when we got home!!

I am currently 33 inches tall, and weigh 25lbs!! I'm 20 1/2 months old, and will soon turn 2 years old!!
